Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates
Due to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) public health order, our staff will be working virtually from Wednesday, November 18 through Tuesday, December 8, 2020. There are no changes to our scholar's virtual learning program. Please note you may still get that in touch with our office team by calling (313) 397-3333.
In addition, there are no changes to the current breakfast and lunch schedule. Both breakfast and lunch will be served as “grab-and-go” style. The schedule for breakfast/lunch distribution is as follows:
Mondays 10AM - 3:30PM

Three days worth of breakfast/lunch available for Monday-Wednesday
Thursdays 10AM - 3:30PM

Two days worth of breakfast/lunch available for Thursday and Friday
Families may pick up in the school parking lot. The building will not be open.

The best defense against any contagious illness is frequent and effective handwashing and seeking immediate medical assistance if experiencing symptoms. Below are guidelines in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

Wash your hands with soap and water.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or upper sleeve when coughing or sneezing.

Avoid contact with people who are sick.

Stay home if you are sick and contact your healthcare provider.

Social distance: Remain at least 6ft from others whenever possible.

School Support COVID-19 Grant Program
The state has opened the School Support COVID-19 Grant Program for eligible K-12 school teacher and support staff to recognize the additional time spent outside of normal working hours, hazardous conditions, and additional costs school support staff has incurred or experienced to provide services to students during the period of school closure in 2019-2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STATE HAS SET REQUIREMENTS THAT DETERMINES THE ELIGIBILITY FOR THE PROGRAM.
Promise Schools will notify the eligible school staff via email with the required next steps, including completion of Form 5734 no later than November 9, 2020. Eligible staff must return Form 5734 no later than November 24, 2020. Staff will be required to submit the completed form via email to eruiz@promiseschools.org with the subject lime - Last Name, First Name Form 5734. Grant distribution will be issued via check from the Department of Treasury to the qualified team members starting on February 25, 2021. This will NOT be issued via payroll.
Funding eligibility is as follows: Eligible Teachers - $500 Eligible Support Staff - $250
